Are the doors in stock
At any one time we hold about 3000 doors in our warehouse of selected styles. We also buy stock from various importers in the UK who deliver to us regularly. Goods ordered that are not available from our own stock will be obtained on the next delivery from that particular supplier.
Can I add or change my order once its being placed
Not easily. If you forget something please contact us as soon as possible and we will try to help. It may not be possible to change your existing order, but if a subsequent order is placed we will endeavour to tie the two deliveries together. For specific information that applies to your order please see our Terms.
Can I order doors separately
You can order one or one hundred doors from us, but please be aware we cannot guarantee continuity in our products if purchased at separate times. It is advisable to purchase all doors for your property together; this will also save on separate transport charges.
Delivery Price & Time
We offer two separate delivery services, Standard and Express. The total price of delivery is calculated according to the volume of goods being ordered and your location. For example:
One door to Southern England is £35, then add £5 per extra door (Standard service is about 5-7 days from despatch).Upgrade to Express service for an additional £50 (Express service 1-3 days from despatch). Please consider that not all doors are available from our stock. The lead-time for delivery is in addition to the time it takes to obtain physical stock of your order. For more information please see our delivery page.
Do I need to use special Varnish or Paint
Yes, it is vital to apply the correct finish to your door or frame, and could limit or void your guarantee if you do it incorrectly. Please see our Finishing instructions.
Do these prices include VAT
Yes all of our prices include VAT. If you are buying doors for a new-build property it may be possible for you to claim this vat back (if you ask your builder to purchase the goods) from HM Revenue & Customs when your build is complete.
Do you have a fitting service
We do not offer a fitting service of our own, however if you are based locally we are happy to help source a joiner to undertake your work.
I need a fire rated door which one shall I buy
Fire doors are designed to stop the spread of fire and/or smoke throughout a building. For domestic situations there are two common classifications of fire door, FD30 and FD60, these types can be identified on our website by a Red or Black flame icon.
Regrettably we cannot advise which rating of fire doors you should buy for your property, but this information can usually be obtained from your architect or building inspector who is overseeing your project. In general the doors leading onto an area with heavy traffic will probably be FD30 rated.
What do these certifications mean? The FD stands for ‘Fire Door’ then the numbers relate to the length of time that particular door is tested to withstand a fire (i.e. FD30 means the door will last for 30 minutes). If a fire rating is specified with an S on the end (e.g. ‘FD30S’) this stands for ‘Smoke’ and will mean the particular door or frame must also be fitted with smoke seals.
You can view our fire doors collection online.
Is my door a standard size
Not all door openings will suit standard size doors (especially in older properties) and it may be necessary to choose from our custom door range. However some of our standard size doors will allow for trimming (depending on the manufacturing method for that particular door). If you are in any doubt about the size of door that you require please contact our sales team.
What about the environment
When purchasing a wooden door you can be confident that you are not exhausting irreplaceable raw materials, such as bauxite used for aluminium doors, or oil for UPVC doors. We work closely with our suppliers to make certain that wherever possible all timber used for our products is sourced from well-managed forests, where more trees are planted than harvested. Many of our products are also fully FSC or PEFC approved.
What does Engineered mean?
The expression “Engineered” covers a broad range of door types. In a nutshell it means any door that has been fabricated using more than just single lengths of solid timber. Any one component from a door can consist of numerous solid wood materials such as block wood, particle board, finger jointed board etc. that usually veneered or covered with a timber facing. The majority of doors that we sell are engineered, as these are much less likely to warp/twist than traditionally made doors, and are also more economical in the use of natural timber resources.
What happens if I need to cancel my order
• Items held in stock may be cancelled at no charge up to being despatched.
